Yeah I know that they have a team and at this stage they are

better off playing Baseball and Soccer than Cricket. I have not

seen them play, but I am judging based on their qualifications

into ICC matches. I did not see a single stat from their listed

players. Did not know that they were at Lords....

Even there are teams in China, Cayman Islands and 60 other

associate members of ICC.

I didn't know they had one until today when I was watching the Channel 5 highlights and they were given a brief mention. Apparently they're over here to play Afghanistan in a tier 5 match to decide who will go into the qualifying rounds for the 2011 world cup.

Yes.  Japan have a national cricket team.  Japan have been an associate member of the International Cricket Council since 2005, They are currently ranked at l 37th in the world and at fourth amongst non-test teams in their region.

In 2004, they hosted the East Asia Pacific Cricket Challenge tournament as part of qualification for the 2007 World Cup, finishing third after beating Indonesia in a play-off.

In 2005 Japan  played in the 2005 ICC EAP Cricket Cup in Vanuatu, winning the tournament after beating the Cook Islands in the final. The following year they played in the 2006 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy in Brisbane finishing last in the three team tournament that also involved Fiji and the Cook Islands
