  1. no.Hummers are cool!!

  2. Leland's thinking is ignorant and flawed.  So is yours.

  3. even the bio fuels

  4. if you look at the beginning of that article.  The author doesn't believe that we are making a negative impact on the global environment.  The article is going to have that kind of tone no matter what vehicles are being looked into.  You seriously can't believe that hummers are better for the environment than hybrids.  Wow, some people will believe ANYTHING they read.  I am a green dragon by the way.

Seriously, look at the factors that were involved.

    AND I LIKE HUMMERS.

  5. not true. i got proof.

  6. I guess you mean the amount of polluting substances that are wrapped up in a vehicle?

Trade offs ,trade offs Mate.. All I can tell you.

  7. so what, it still doesn't justify idiots buying those stupid ugly polluting vehicles ( the hummers i mean )

  8. yes, And people buy into the hype, In Vancouver the taxi companies have started using the prius, so Imagine how great the fuel economy will be in a little 1 litre engine hauling 4 - 200# men and thier luggage up and down the hills of Vancouver!

Bring back the crown vic taxicab

    Great Article by the way

  9. The only time hybrids are using more energy is in production.  The article talks about the energy needed to produce the vehicle at the factory, not the energy used in the many years the vehicle is driven by the buyer.  Hybrids don't use as much gasoline, and they don't pollute the air (e.g. contribute to the greenhouse effect) as much as straight-fuel burning vehicles.  Also, as bigdonut72 mentioned, production will become more efficient (and thus save energy during production) if hybrids become more popular and are produced in larger numbers.  Increased popularity and its resultant mass production will also eventually mean lower prices for the consumer.

  10. his arguments are based on the fact that alternative fuel vehicles are in limited production.  Thats his flaw.  He claims that more energy is taken to produce the hybrid vehicles than building a hummer, which is true now. When more people start to buy hybrids, and they are produced in the same mass production as the h2, the energy costs will drop dramatically.  That explains wind turbines now, why they arent cost effective.   An old model t, at 2 miles to the gallon is more energy efficient than either of those cars according to his reasoning.

Buy a fuel efficient car, and leave the hummers to soccer moms and guys with sexual identity issues.

  11. Hybrids are way better  then Hummers for the envirnment. I would know because GM comes to my school every friday and tells us about cars and the envirnment, so who ever told you that was wrong. Im a tree hugger i would know.
