Yes.  On the way from dropping my boys off for their last day of vacation bible school my daughter and I were hit head-on by a driver impaired by drugs and alcohol (9:15 in the MORNING) and uninsured to boot.  There were at least 4 kinds of illegal substances/levels in the drivers' bloodstream, according to the state police.

They were so inebriated the ambulances took them first.  My patellar tendon was completely macerated and I couldn't even put on my brakes (the muscle was disconnected...) until I thought of using my other leg.  I had other injuries as well, and my 2 year old daughter has had bad headaches ever since when the storm fronts come through.

Drinking and driving is unargueably stupid.  Statistics are irrelevant.
