Darfur, which is now in the news is a separate conflict entirely but it may be a result of the treaty signed that allows the South, in 2011, to break free from the Northern government. The genocide in Darfur may be an indirect result of that treaty because the government now wants to gain as much land as possible for Arab settlement so that the South doesn't end up with a ton of land. In essence, the government is losing a big portion of the country in 2011, so now they will try to take as much land as possible through whatever means they can.

These are my thoughts on the matter, what do you think?

In any event, it what is happening in Sudan is truly a tragedy of enormous scope.

  3. So, what else is new? Read your history books. People have been fighting there and  throughout the middle east since the beginning of time. It will never stop. That's what's sad. Why can't these Arab nations try to work together somehow for the common good. Are the religious and political differences that strong that people would rather die that try to find some middle ground. I guess not. That's too bad. Oh well, did you know that 7-11 give away free Slurpee's two weeks ago. There all run by Arabs. Go figure. Hum-mm !
