It won't be this monster people say it might be. My prediction. Yup, I bet it won't even kill anybody. And people in New Orleans are getting so nervous.

  1. Bush at it again.

  2. I hope you are right.

  3. do you live in the north?i live in fla with hurricanes all the time. They are preparing for new orleans for the simple fact last time they didn't and the govt and the people have never let it be forgotten.(which they shouldn't )they lived through heck all being thrown into the football stadium not enough beds, food and or toilets.

Better to prepare and have it on hand then to be stuck w nothing because people were to lazy to help.

I am sure you sit in your lazy boy rocker criticizing everything but last one to go help anyone.

  4. Did you know that Gustav already HAS caused deaths?? My prediction is that youve never been through a hurricane. If you think it will be a "bust" why not come on down to South Louisiana and stay for the week. I wouldnt say people here are "nervous," just getting prepared. Its what SHOULD happen, especially in New Orleans.

  5. People in New Orleans are panicking, but it's hard to blame them.  For good or bad NOLA has not been hit by a hurricane since Katrina so no one actually knows how the levee repairs will hold up. The Unknown = Fear, and the population WAS traumatized by Katrina.

The news media has contributed to the panic by deliberately downplaying the improvements to the levee system since 2005, and overplaying the effects of a medium-size (at most) storm like Gustav.

It might actually be a good thing for New Orleans to be hit by Gustav. The levee system will hold and that may reduce the panic for future storms.
