How many people are aware that the BBB has revoked Vonages membership?

Quoted from BBB report:

"BBB Accreditation Status:

On March 27, 2007 this company's membership in the BBB was revoked by the BBB's Board of Directors due to failure to respond to one or more consumer complaints filed with the BBB."

Personally, I have never used Vonage and thus do not have an opinion about their service.

I think VoIP is the future of land-based phone comms, but I think the VoIP companies (all of them) have a long way to go when it comes to customer service and resolving customer complaints.

What do you think?

  1. That doesn't surprize me at all.  Their business ways were unethical.  I know a lot of different people that switched before this came about.  I emailed Douglas B who wrote his comment and I have to say that is the best place I've done business with yet.  Here's the web site that I recommending if you want really good service and VOIP.  I also found that they provide a wide different other services too.

  2. Good, I hope vonage goes out of business. They screwed me out of $97 and their support sucks! They don't stand behind their service, and they don't honor their money back quality guaranty!

  3. Although I am based in the UK I do not know Vonage, but I do know of an excellent company that has its own VOIP network in N America, not only voip but its software is able to carry video phone messages as well. I have seen the quality of the service and I can tell you it leaves web cams technology in the Dark Ages.

This companies voip network is going to be rolled out across Europe later this year and I can't wait, I have been using the company's conventional land-line service for almost 9 years and I can assure you that their customer service dept is fantastic, and I imagine that the N. American service will be just as good.

If you would like to know more about the company send me an email and I will give you a web address.

  4. I am in the same boat as I have never used Vonage however Im not sure if it is the future, I definitly think it has a place but Im not sure if i see it taking over in large part because everyone would need to have dsl or broadband in order to have it, not to mention the reliability issues involved with voip, I work for a local telco and the powers that be have tossed around the idea of offering voip as a cheaper alternative to a dedicated land line, however as of yet they have chose not to simply for the fact that it is so unreliable. Many people are on your side and say that voip is the future and land lines are dying which is true with the wireless age upon us, however there will always be businesses that need land lines ane until fiber to the home is a reality everywhere, they will still need a reliable source of dial tone, phone companies have been doing it for a hundred years, and thats why they are the best at it.

  5. thank you Jeff B. for your post and link....I always find it very interested when I read about Vonage!  I never trusted Vonage. I think the have a fantastic website and that what really turns most ppl on!, but Vonage just spends to much money on advertising and all other boring things......I decided to go with P8 five years ago....I never even heard of them or/and VoIP....I took a chance, ordered my equipment online........plug it in....and it worked ever since!!!

I did my usual test......anytime I sign up on a new company, I call there customer service and if it takes longer then 5 minutes, I'm a goner!!!

I called P8 five more times with questions. There CS is located in California and everyone speaks English...!

    I got a free VoiP base-phone/ 1 extension, free shipping and free activation....and free E911....now its 1.99 a month....!

I'm really not sure if the American ppl will get VoIP in the future, many got a real bad taste still from SunRocket and now Vonage.....most Americans like to get spoon-fed all new technologies, no one wants to read the instructions or do any kind of research....!
