Did you know that adoptees are less likley to be attacked by sharks?

I just read that in ALL world shark attacks only one adoptee had been killed by a shark. Why do you think this is? Are we more protected, better swimmers.

oh my goodness - that is hilarious!! I'm adopted.... i think it's just the statistics, like the odds of someone not adopted getting attacked by a shark is higher just because there are more people who are not adopted than people who are adopted...

Whoa dude!  Did you know that just today someone was indeed attacked by a shark in Solana Beach, CA?   Very sad.  I wonder if they were adopted (sorry, couldn't resist).

Maybe adoptees fear water more? Or are located in more inland areas...?  Maybe their parents spent too much on the process to afford that trip to the coast?

I wonder how many Left-Handed people have been attacked by sharks?

Maybe the reports just don't express weather or not the person was adopted.....

Or maybe some of the people didn't know they were adopted.... no way to accurately say.

You live in SD right? I've heard of like 1 attack ever in that area. not the biggest control group.

There are a lot of people who have never been attacked by a shark it has nothing to do with being adopted. It just so happens that in the article you read it mentioned that the person was adopted.

i think the ratio from adoptees to non in the shark attacks are low unless thats a question the coast guard keeps forgetting to ask(don't forget i have a warpe sence of humor)  ya know thats something i would have never thought of.  you come up with some cool question that are out there but really make ya think

Geez...what a relief. I'm VERY happy to hear that I no longer have to worry about my daughter at the beach.

I'm not adopted but since my daughter is does that mean I'm protected too if I'm with her?

Dude you are so funny! The thing to remember is when you read the obits. it says son/daughter of so and so, not the adopted son/daughter. So in reality there are no proven stats on this that isn't a question asked when someone dies. "Hey was that your real kid or did you adopt them". But anyway thanks for the laugh.

We probably stay out of water more because our experience in utereo was ruined by the bad emotions and everything leading up to our surrenders.

ETA: or MAYBE all of the adoptees who would have been "eaten" by sharks, are too busy killing people on the mainland to be swimming with sharks.

ETA: or MAYBE some of us are just sitting on our computers too much and protesting our violations to be doing either. I'll go with this one over the others.

Well... most people who are attacked by sharks are surfers because, you look like a large shark's favorite prey!  I wouldn't count on being adopted to save you, Surf!  

That said, isn't it fun making statstics say whatever you want?

It's probably only because adoptees are a large minority of the population.  

I bet there's been only one guy with a purple mustache attacked by a shark.  That doesn't mean having a purple mustache makes will make you less susceptible to attack.

1.adoptee are a smaller part of the population

2. shark attacks are not as frequent as some people think a few years ago they reported it on the news all the time but they were  actually fewer attacks. In the Us there are less than 20 year on average so just simple math it is harder for an adoptee to be attacked
