That it is because the economy is lower than of USA. For exmaple here people make atlleast $300 a week while in latin america the people only make 42 dollars so taking that into account $1 is a lot.

Yes, we do have a  lot of oil. But the reason petrol is so cheap is because it's subsidized by the government, a liter of petrol cost more than 3 cents to produce.

That's because they have so much oil it's a cheap commodity for them

Im not saying in general we make less money than u do.. but $1 a lot?!

We know that we are almost paying nothing to fill up our gas tank...thats almost the same we pay for a chocolate, or cocacola.. but we produce that.. we are not loosing anything..

Of course... if our government was smart enough it could take advantge f this when selling it to other countries..

it has always been like this in Venezuela, so even if any president wanted to change it so wed pay something more rational.. that president wont last too long..

Chavez or any president in Venezuela wouldnt dare to change this.. maybe change it from $1 to $3 (for example and ppl would go crazy)... but not more than that..
