Here is a more positive version of my last post that got reported. There this line of thinking out there on YA that all positive adoption experiences are a government conspiracy to cover up the truth about adoption. Does anybody else think this is ridiculous? Does anybody else think the government has better things to do then come on YA and sabotage people's post. Do the adoptees with positive experiences find this offensive?

  1. 1)  I've never met anyone who believes that.  Who says YahooAnswers is part of a government cover-up?

    2) Adoptees with negative experiences had their truths denied for decades.  Some people still ask us to deny.  This is a very emotional issue.  Do you not suppose a little bit of backlash has to happen before things can be talked about reasonably, let alone improved or corrected?

    3)  No, I don't find opinions that differ from mine offensive unless they contain personal attacks.  Why not take any useful info you get here and let the rest go by?  Why do you care what "they" think?

  2. some people think everything is a conspiracy, and the one you speak of is rediculous, yes I agree

  3. never know what the government is capable of.

  4. Its not the government its NCFA and the affiliate private agencies, amongst others

Sealed records hide a multitude of past wrong doings

You do know they seal our own records away from us, right?

  5. Yes, I do think that the government has better things to do than to come to YA and sabotage the "positive" in adoption.  They are too busy passing laws and appropriation bills to increase the gap between the "haves" and the "have nots".  Oh, wait - but doesn't that result in starving poor people into needing to sell their children to rich people for the "best of the child"?  Nah - there is no conspiracy.

  6. Are you stating that it has been alleged that the government posts on Y!A?

If so, I do find that ridiculous.

I have never heard of the government conspiring to cover up personal truths about adoption.  A person's truth is their truth.  How can anyone or any organization dispute that?  That too would be ridiculous.

  7. what is a positive adoption experience as opposed to a negative?  How is saving a life from hardship and possibly early death a negative?

  8. i don't think it's a conspiracy. I just see a patter as far as happy adoptions go. Most but not all of the stories i've heard about happy adoptions are all from people that were abused and/or new their parents before they were adopted. their are exceptions to every rule. it would be assinine to me for everyone to be misserable or for everyone to be happy. life isn't that cut and dry. if it was everyone would want their children. I haven't had a positive experiance at all but i'm not offended. there just are no absolutes in anything. this is a common sense question more so than anything else.

  9. I don't really think it is all that ridiculous when you consider that there IS a negative side to adoption.  That is a fact, despite many positive outcomes.

There IS a government entity - the Congressional Coalition on Adoption - that exists to not only promote adoption (NOT just foster adoption) but vote to reduce the time a mother may have to reconsider after her child is born, and vote for laws that give an unfair advantage to adoptive parents.  A high percentage of the CCA's members are adoptive parents - what a surprise... not.

There is also an entity called the NCFA which is not a government entity but an extremely powerful LOBBYIST GROUP funded primarily by adoption agencies (the financial benefactors of adoptions).  It is in their personal best interests to do all they can to keep the negative side of adoption from the public eye.  They DO spend money on keeping certain books off the bookshelves in major bookstores.  Imagine what else they are capable of.

There are also many people on adoption agency payrolls whose job it is to make comments on blogs and public places like Yahoo in support of adoption as well as to report to their employer regarding any and all voices who dare to discuss the negative aspects of adoption.

I don't like it, and YOU shouldn't like it either.  I would prefer to hear from REAL people and feel confident that there are no paid moles whose job it is to protect their precious $3 BILLION adoption industry.

  10. Yeah, I know several people who are adopted. A baby from China, and several adult friends (3 actually) who were adopted as children. All are happy, healthy individuals. In fact, 2 of the adults are brothers (but not by birth), and I didn't believe for a long time that they were adopted.

  11. not so much a government conspiracy to cover up adoption, but more towards the idea of a government conspiracy to keep the lower echelon of society from reproducing and dragging society down.

That is the mission statement of the woman who founded Planned Parenthood back in the '30s. The coverup that is that belief system continues today. The vast majority of abortions are given to women of lower economic standing. The government pays for it, which makes it an easy financial process to go through for the woman, and saves the government money in the long run because it doesn't have to support a child. The truth that it is psychologically devasting to the woman is something that is swept under the carpet, with the aborted fetus. God bless progressive liberalism, right?
