Why do we do the opposite? For me it's naturally sad to hear that someone i know has passed. Celebrating is nowhere in my mind. And at some funerals, they call it a home-going celebration, and they do celebrate the loss.

  1. i have heard that

  2. You might think I'm weirdo.

When one of my family died or passed away. And we celebrate because so one of my family get in rest in peace.

If one of my family born new baby then we get drunk and be happy that we got new family come up.

I know my family must be weird but that how they do.

  3. I could see celerbrating someone dieing if you think they went to heaven or if they were suffering alot and now they aren't suffering anymore.  But being sad when a baby is born doesn't make any sense, unless your planned parenthood.

  4. ha, thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard

i can kind of understand the part about celebrating that someone is meeting jesus (if you believe in that stuff) but it is still mournful because they're gone from your life

and crying when a baby is born...well that only happens to people  that don't believe in abortion but have no means to raise a child

  5. yes, I've heard this from many spiritual camps. I think it makes perfect sense, but in our human minds it's hard to think that way during these two times.
