This will effectively kill off the internet as we know it. Might not be a totally bad idea. You might save the music and movie industries from becoming totally loss making entities.

And maybe shut down the terror sites.

But as for most of the other sites.Young people will have to borrow their parents credit cards to pay, which will cut down

net traffic by 95% at least.

I honestly do not know what to believe at this point. It may be true, but it may also be simply rumor. If it does occur that we end being charged as is claimed, well, there is an old song that comes to mind. Part of the words go, "Got along without you before I met you. Going to get along without you now." I tend to think there will be such an outcry that if that is truly the intent, then it will quickly become history. It goes against what to my mind is the very philosophy behind the Internet.

I see only 1 problem with that though. Internet service is very competitive business and price is big deal. With so many services competing to keep price low its unlikely they'll raise price of internet service in future. If anything lawsuit happy American's will sue the c**p out of the industry if it were to unfairly raise price. Not to mention lot of Jone's claims/predictions are only implied possibility. Plus people don't have complete detail of what Internet 2 will be like. They only know partial facts and fill in the gaps with potential nightmares. Is the subscription fee for websites? Or accessing HD movies? People buy movies online today. Details like these can blurred to make it sound bad.

1 thing about making lot of money. Make things affordable for masses. Grabing only rich top 1% or whatever doesn't sound like good plan to make lots of money to me. How do corporations make big money? They sell to millions and billions of customers. Not to select few.

There's more than couple of things wrong about prediction that internet 2 will make it more expensive. If anything people will naturally spend more on movie/music downloads and other services because things will work faster. I guess Internet 2 can be nightmare if you claim it work so great it will make people spend more downloading craps.

If you think about it there's no reason for big corporations to raise fee for accessing the service itself. Because they'll try to draw people into internet with cheap access so they'll spend more buying other services like movie downloads, musics, softwares...etc. These people know how to sell craps and raising price of entrance to LIMITLESS merchandise online???? really isn't one.

Corporations are there to make money. They don't just operate out of thin air like evil characters on movie screens. And trust me they can make lot more if they keep price of internet access low. Thereby inviting more people to spend buying things/services on internet. And internet 2. Some are claiming big corporations are getting together to some how only allow rich and select few access to internet, but corporations can't exist without income from millions of poor people. I mean this whole idea that they can exist without biggest portion of their income is just stupid idea.

I don't care what some internet websites claim, but Earth is still round and people still have some common sense. So called elites are rich because they get their money from somebody. But from whom? I wonder how they get their money? Money just don't pop into existence out of thin air.

So a elite would say 'let's make internet so expensive so no one can afford it! And why isn't money falling from sky??? Now that's pretty funny.

WOW!  I am so pleased to find yet another person who views infowars.com.  I too have read those articles

Anyway.........I WILL NOT be a part of that under ANY circumstance!  I absolutely refuse to use what they call "Internet 2.  Does anyone realize that this just another way for the government to monitor and control what we do, when we do it and why??

******The government I believe is far more interested in finding out what we are doing and controling everything that them losing a little money is of no interest to them as they obviously make billions elsewhere.  I definetely would not put it past these people to create Internet2 simply because look at everything that has changed in the world in the past say....15 years.  Do you really think that if they can better monitor what "we the people" are doing they will not go for Internet2?  It all seems to fit with a lot of things that are currently going on.  I must add though that lots of people have no idea what is going on due to the main stream media leaving so much out.  Either way, this is only one girls opinion
