Did You Know:

Just based on the birthrate of animals, the only way there would be enough homes for every animal born would be for every human being in the U.S

to own 6 dogs and 9 cats.

EACH.

So a family of 4 would own

24 dogs and 36 cats.

Good enough reason to spay/neuter???

I got that from here

  1. I could manage that...if I had donald trump, oprah and bill gate's money combined and about a brickload of acreage, a private vet and stock in several different meat companies.

  2. Omg that is good reason my dog is spayed

  3. No.. I didn't know that.. O.o My family of four owns 3 dogs, and that's considered a lot. Haha.

  4. Wow.  I didn't know that.

I wouldn't have that many even if I had all the money in the world - I'd just have my couple and spend all my time with them.  (which would be freaking awesome)

  5. Wow. That is a lot. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. And looking to get another dog! (From a shelter by the way!)

  6. That's rediculous.  And people want to ask why they should spay/neuter their pet!!

I just might use that on my new website!!

  7. I'm going to post that in my classroom.  After a class discussion, I discovered that several of my high school students don't see the importance of spaying/neutering.  I think that may convince a couple!

  8. Sadly the people who should be listening to this are not. Some just think they are above this and will not do the right thing by their dogs and society.  And if people would just stop buying from petstores (puppy mills) the population might start to decline but people just MUST HAVE that adorable labramorkiedoodlepugeaglepoopoo and pay over a grand for it cause it's ssssooooooo cute!!!!

Oh I almost forgot to make this legit.  No I did not know that.  I've been getting violations from just having conversations and not answering the question.

  9. Yep! And I make sure to tell people that.

I've got three dogs, all fixed. Does that count?

  10. Wow, no. I mean I knew hundereds of dogs are put to sleep every day, but I never knew the actual number! I only have one dog, and theres 4 people in my family plus my Grandpa who lives with us(but he hates animals.)

  11. I knew there was a problem, but I didn't realize it was this big. Even though it is a personal decision and whatnot, maybe it is time to step in and spay/neuter. Or do something else that will decrease the birthrate of animals. And I don't mean kill them.

Having animals roaming out in the street will only cause more problems for the animals and humans.

  12. I didn't know that.  I don't like your new picture, I can't see your dog well, it is too dark in the background.

  13. I had no idea.

I have 5 dogs and 7 cats, all but one dog are either rescues or strays.  All spayed/neutered

  14. Interesting fact but I think it could be better phrased as a question....

  15. Well I'm almost there.. I guess I'm doing my part then eh? I have 3 dogs, 4 cats and I am fostering 7 kittens and 1 adult cat. This year I've already fostered 8 other kittens through a local rescue.. I wanted to make absolutely certain that they would be adopted out on a spay/neuter policy.. and they were! Hopefully every little bit helps!

  16. LoL, my household just about meets that... between me and my roommate, we own 10 dogs and 6 cats.  :-P

  17. I am in aw. All of my pets are spayed/neutered. Yay me!

  18. No I didn't.  That is astonishing.  That's why I believe very strongly in spaying and neutering.

  19. Jesus tap dancing Christ.

I will never understand why people need statistics to spay and neuter their pets. Isn't love enough?

    UGH.
