Well, he was an Asian made of plasticine-Facts from the website

" Hart created the less racially-sensitive Morph, a three-inch humanoid man formed from modelling clay, whose speech was intelligible gibberish (rumours that Morph’s original name was "Dipesh Patel" have been dismissed by Hart). Following a supporting role in Hart’s kiddie art show Take Hart - which also spawned un-comedy caretaker Mr Bennett (no relation to Mr Benn), who later won a presenting stint on youth quiz show You Should Be So Lucky - Morph got his own series, which introduced us to his extended family. "

Morph had a white cousin called Chaz...ha ,how the f?read how old racist Hart got away with it in the 60's here-

  1. He was of synthetic origin.

  2. It just goes to show that you can make any program or statement into a racial issue, I don`t think for one moment that their was any thought of race when the model was made, so as for Tony Hart "getting away with it" is a ridiculous comment made by someone looking for an issue where there was none, the program was made for children and Morph was made of plasticine and today the TV programs would be looking out for anything that could offend, even when there was no intent to offend, remember the teddy bear that was named Mohammad by that teacher, well this is a similar thing.
