It's funny and sad because us Americans don't know half the things that's going on in this world like this conflict in Russia and Georgia. To be honest, if you ask the average American teen, they'll probably think it's Georgia of the United States.

The current administration thrives on conflict and military operations.  Going to war could give President Bush the power to invoke martial law and stay in office for "strategic security".  Stranger things have happened.

Vietnam 1. appears to be the longest military conflict.

Yeah I heard that over Georgia. That's sad! Haven't we lost enough lives?? Does anyone care?? Longest war I think was close to nine years.

HI Haitianredbone, someone at my work said he thought it was the Georgia rednecks fighting each other when he first heard the news.

Anyway, the US is not going to have any war with Russia unless they attack us personally.  We may fight over small territories like Georgia or Poland, but the US simply doesn't have the personnel right now to stage any major military action.  I don't think Russia has any desire to fight with the US either, they just want to flex their muscles a little with a former country they occupied and controlled in the past.  Russia lost a lot of territories after the fall of communism, so now that they are powerful again, maybe they would like to bring some of those countries back into the fold...or at least show them who's the boss.

Europe has shown they won't take on Russia, some news channels want to blow this whole arguement out of proportion it seems.
