Did you know you can create a ghost?

Question

A dead fictional character named Philip was made up in an attempt to bring it to life as a ghost. Apparenlty spirits love to play pranks on people.

I've always been suspicious of the idea of us being eternal beings in a body and this discovery only trengthens them. If you can create a ghost then I could even conjure a spirit that to masquerade as a living person too, but i think the spirit may want to have telepathic communication with the person so it would be a more believable scam. I think OBEs are actually visions from the spirits trying to delude people into thinking they don't really die. If the soul is the seat of our feelings and memory wouldn't that make it phyisical? If not then why do we feel pain when we touch a hot stove? Why do we have amnesia after having brain damage?

This can be an extremely dangerous practice.  

This group was providing an energy source to an unknown entity, whether they created it or not.  Once they have provided that energy to the entity, that entity can use that energy for any purpose.  In addition, they were making a connection to "something" without considering how they would eventually break that connection.  You need an exit strategy to remain safe.

There is a responsibility that comes along with using knowledge.  Before you try this type of "experiment" or play this "game", consider the possible results of this type of behaviour.  Study the topic in more detail and examine the moral responsibilities to yourself, your friends, and your new "pet" that you are creating.

A 6 year old could have a lot of fun with a lighter, but you wouldn't want him playing with one around your house without adult supervision.

Yes. I own the book "Conjuring Up Philip" that details this experiment. The same group also replicated the results with a similar experiment called "Lilith"  A class from Franklin Pierce College replicated (in my opinion poorly) this experiment. This can be found by doing an internet search.

Unfortunately, no other (at least published) replication has been attempted. I have wanted a group for years to do this but it takes a lot of time and dedication to truly replicate this years long experiment.

You might also be interested in the book "Reunions" by Dr. Raymond Moody where he describes a psychomanteum that can allow/cause people to see their deceased relatives. While some people believe actual contact is made other belive it be a hallucination of the mind. However, it has been useful in helping people with grief over the lost of loved ones.
