  2. Donating to local animal shelters is a wonderful way to help the homeless animals.

    Calling your local animal shelter and asking what you can do or donate to help is a great way to find out exactly what they need most.

    Our shelter likes to have shredded paper donated in the winter months.  They use the paper for bedding for the animals to stay warm.  It's a great way to recycle.  

    Another great way to help the animals is to urge your friends and families to adopt a pet from the shelter instead of looking for breeders to buy a registered and pedigreed pet.

    An adopted pet can be just as loving and a great fit for your family even if they're not a pedigree with registration papers.

    Good thing to bring up though.  It's a great way to get rid of ragged towels.
