Question:

Did you like it when Kimi Pointed at Hami then pointed at the Light Pole?

They might've said something along these lines

Kimi:” In my country we call that a stop light.”

“Surely that light doesn't apply to me, I'm Lewis Hamilton.”

This is what Hamilton actually said:

"Personally I think the rule is silly. We are in the race, how can you see a red light at the end of the pitlane?"

This is what I think.

Seriously, if you're not capable of glancing at the light while driving at just 50 miles per hour, you really don't belong in ANY kind of racing car, let alone at the pinnacle of motorsport.

Presuming it's a real quote and not just made up by the author of Autosport's article, this has to rank as among the dumbest and most pathetic things ever to leave the lips of a Formula One driver. Grow up Lewis, learn to admit you made a mistake, and stop trying to blame the rulebook for your inability to focus when you're suddenly placed on the back foot.

Are you with me?

  1. not only was that a stupid thing to say he was rather smug the way he brushed Kimi off like he was some two bit amateur. I would have love to have seen Kimi throw a roundhouse punch and flatten His Royal Highness Hamilton on his a-s-s. he should show alittle more respect for a WORLD CHAMPION.  Hamilton's not only arrogant but he also freaks out and panics and utters the most hypocritical, idiotic statements by any driver ever. I will be waiting for the day that Mclaren tires of him and banishes him to some bottom feeder team

  2. Lewis is lucky Kimi didn't kick his ***.  He was probably scared which is why he turned his back and tried to make his way back to the Mclaren garage quickly.

  3. He made a mistake, stop trying to prove to the world he's an arrogant little b*****d at every opportunity.

    He f*cked up.

    Everybody can f*ck up.

    Let it rest.

This "I hate this spoiled little brat" brigade is becoming tiresome.

I don't like him much either but he's a truly awesome talent.

    He's d**n fast.

What do you want him to do, leave F1?

    Perhaps humble himself?

    WTF?

  4. With you all the way...

Wondering what would have happened if it happened to be Ayrton Senna instead of Kimi!!!

  5. I'd have probably found it funny if in Monaco, Adrian Sutil pointed at the damp tarmac and Kimi's slicks and then told him to drive more carefully in those kinds of conditions. Considering Kimi managed to get himself into an easily avoidable accident for all the same reasons that Hamilton has been accused of by these answerers then It shows that Kimi either has memory problems or he too is very arrogant. Personally, I'd prefer him to be arrogant, nice F1 drivers are just too dull.

I'm no Hamilton fan but I'm glad he so derisively dismissed Kimi.

Hurrah for impatient drivers. They at least give us something amusing to watch while they spend their time debating which pit stop they should use to pass someone.

  6. Yes. Hamilton made a mistake! Whether deliberate or not, it was still a mistake. Okay, if he genuinely didn't see the light, either he is

    a) blind

    b) ignorant

    c) not qualified to be in F1 because in a sport like this you've got to be alert

So what are the Hamilton fans going to say now? Huh? Excuses, excuses, excuses! Just face it- he made a mistake and he said his penalty was 'too harsh'. Isn't banging into someone else (when it was actually avoidable) more harsh than harsh? Git. I'm not against Lewis, but that was just silly.

  7. It was really interesting. Kimi managed to keep his cool even in that situation. If it had been say, Montoya or Jacques Villeneuve, there would be an exchange of rudeness and possibly a punch or two.

As for him saying he can't see the red light, then why did Kimi and Kubica stop. Because they saw the red light. I was quite surprised at the aftermath of the incident. Hamilton was not humbled and instead just blamed the FIA indirectly

  8. Is this (the red light) a new rule? I don't think so - so the more alert drivers were aware that during a safety car situation there WAS a possibility of a red light! Robert Kubica has 'come up through the ranks' at the same time as Hamilton and HE saw the light!! I'm not a fan of Kimi, but he controlled himself very well - he must have wanted to punch Hamilton!

  9. I think its down to a combination of

    . Hamiltons impatience

    . Hamiltons arrogance

. Mclaren being at the end of the pit lane so don't need to use the speed limiter

. Kimi not lining up behind Kubica, though in Kimis defense, if it was a green light and Kimmi passed it would of been a good move.

. Lack of a low down visible red light.

  10. I had a good laugh when I saw Kimi point at the lights... Talk about rubbing salt in the wounds!!!!

Cavallino Silver... I couldn't agree wih you more... except for the fact that I'm a huge Ferrari supporter!!

  11. I think Hamilton had some nerve to wave him away after he pointed out the red light to him. I know it was patronizing, but Kimi should have got an award for keeping his head like that. He's not really as cold as everyone believes, he just hates the media and the publicity stuff. HIs wife's a lovely person too.

Had I been him, Hamilton's funeral would have been today. I was amazed at his composure. It's a skill to control your anger like that.

  12. With you all the way.

Maranello:  Instead of Senna, can you imagine what James Hunt would have done to him?  Or more lately, even Danica Patrick had she been in it.  That girls got a temper!

  13. I'm not a big fan of Hamilton (I really like McLaren though) but I find it surprising how he can be the fastest guy on the race and then destroy his own chances like that.

And even that is just that, a mistake, partly because he never spent a season with a small team, that would have helped him to learn to be patient at least.

But what really surprises me is how he can shoot himself in the foot with his comments. I find it difficult to like him even though he drives for my favorite team. Ironically the guy who I thought had the coldest personality (Kimi) actually behaved like a sportsman and apologized, and you can see it meant a lot for Sutil. Hamilton has a lot to learn (if personality can be learned..).

  14. Indeed ! Kimi should`ve punched Hamilton, but thanks to Kimi for his experience and maturity in F1 unlike Hamilton. He gave a good example to young an inexperienced drivers like Hamilton, and Hamilton instead of apologising Kimi(a senior and much respected driver) he turned his back and kept on moving as if he`d just won the Noble Prize.

However I`m glad that Kimi still was The Iceman then..

  15. hahaha liked the convo you thought it was!

i thought kimi would have done something but he didn't and i gave respect when he showed what lewis did and pointed at the light.

but come on how can you not know that the cars infront have slowed down and you ram into them! its abit commom sense!

  16. yea Hamilton was and is an id!ot. from the beginning i really couldn't see what was so impressive about him. he just had good luck and timing, and maybe the correct way of kissing a$$. at least everybody saw what happened and how stupid it was. he should have apologized to kimi, and not slap him like that on the back. what an a$$hole.

  17. i was laughing my breath off....

    he would have said...

Look at that "stupid" do you know what that meant?

then the pr!ck would have answered(as he pats KRs back)...

Oww c'mon, aren't they x'mas lights in summer?

(i use to admire Christos but not anymore)

  18. yeah, lewis is a good driver skill wise, but he's ego is growing everyday and is getting out of control

anyway, what kimi did was good. He did not lose his cool. he didn't even swing his hand and any angry gestures

  19. After the incident, my respect for Kimi has grown 10 fold. I respect the fact that the man kept his composure and cool & didn't slap Lewis across the face, something I believe should be done to Lewis sooner rather than later.

What a prick ! He wasn't like this last year. Success has made him a jerk. You need to remember where you came from, the hardship's you struggled to reach where you are & respect people. Else, everyone will hate you. Everyone loves a humble man.

  20. yes i am with you, but Hamilton did admit his mistake. in your quote, he is merely saying what he dislikes about the rule

  21. Yeah that was the best i am with you man.
