Did you like the movie Juno?

I thought it was good except I believe in open adoptions. I also thought it showed a realistic side to adoption when the adoptive parents weren't perfect. I know a lot of people speak about that. Did it make you feel better that it didn't portray adoptive parents as the saviors of the world? What does everybody else think?

  1. I am still yet to see it. :)

  2. I really like the movie. I've seen other adopting movies with teen moms in it but non came close to this one. Her attitude was awesome. She knew what she wanted and went with it. I know some teens out there that act like her. Her parents are what shocked me. So kinda laid back about the whole thing?! Haven't meet parents like that yet. I liked how they portrayed the adoptive parents. I loved the ending on how Jennifer got the baby even though her dead beat husband left. The husband was not suppose to be portrayed as a someone who was falling in love with Juno but someone who oddly related to her because he didn't want to grow up basically. He wanted to be young and be in a band like he used to. The two got along because of that. She was young and that's something he wanted to be. He couldn't get out of the past. That was also portrayed in the argument that him and his wife had. I personally liked the movie.

  3. I really liked it... I know Ellen Page was mad because it was being called pro-life, and I don't know if I would see it as pro-life but I do see it as pro-adoption.  It showed that yeah adopted parents aren't perfect, bio-moms aren't perfect, but they are evil or holier than thou either.  They were real.

  4. Why the movie seemed cute on the surface....it was unrealistic

How many pregnant teens can deliver comedic zingers with perfect timing? There nothing "funny" about a young woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Ask a REAL pregnant teen how she feels and I bet you would get a whole different picture.

*** SPANKY your not the only one who thought that guy was creepy!

  5. Sorry but all I saw was a "teen" who was nothing like a real teen and a PAP who was a total whack job. Oh wait I also saw another PAP who was a total predator.

    Awful movie.

Maybe I saw a different man than you did. I saw someone who appeared to be "falling" for the girl who was about to give him and his wife a child. He came off very creepy towards the end and I actually had to pause the movie and go back to it later.

Just to be clear there is no sexual abuse in my past so I wasn't projecting my own experience onto the movie. That really is how he came off to me.

Bwahaha! Ok, I get it now. Yeah Juno's dad was a good character, really liked him actually and the step mom as well. Didn't find either to be overly realistic but they were decent characters.

  6. i really adored the movie and it didn't make the adoptive parents look all uppity and perfect

  7. loved it

  8. LOVED,LOVED,LOVED...IT!

  9. I went to see it last night with my mate and thought it was stupid. I left and got my money back after the part where she  was looking through the newspaper for some desperate PAP's. I will not support that propaganda cr@p.

  10. I want my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. i loved how they made the adoptive parents seem like real people, most movies portray them as being "perfect" and better  than the woman giving up the child....

    it was a wonderful movie.

  12. At first i was hesitant to watch Juno, because i'm adopted and i worried it would either make me angry or upset... but nevertheless i went to see , and it was AWESOME! it's so deep yet so subtle....
