I loved days out at the seaside as a child and trips out in general.

I like the list of the least favourite places to go :)

Living in Gloucestershire, we had many happy days in Weston Super Mare and also some holidays in Bognor Regis. Lol.

I can understand Stonehenge, not being so exciting to kids though.

They would rather surf the internet, how sad. Surely that`s not really true. What do you think, young (under 30) and old (over 30) please, give your views.

  4. I loved being by the seaside sooooooooooo much I moved here 13 years ago to bring up my 3 children so that they could live the life I loved so much as a child!

    :)

  5. I love being by the Sea and have been all my life. Can't beat it and I never cease to be amazed at its awe.. Down side is having to keep cleaning the windows and car lol:)

  6. I live in Cornwall, and have access to many gorgeous beaches, but as we are too busy trying to make a decent living here, we don't get time to sit around on the beaches, sadly.

I try to go and walk my dog on the beach every Sunday, but sadly, most of the time I am called into work. I envy the many holidaymakers who visit each year, and I'm annoyed that the majority of the extortionate water rates we pay in Cornwall goes to cleaning beaches we don't get time to use ourselves. Still, that's life I suppose!!!

  12. I still enjoy going to the seaside.  Maybe some day  I will live beside the sea.

  13. No I do not like sea and sand, and much prefer the beauty of the Countryside. It is quiet, no ice cream vans, no hamburgers with their smell, just pleasant green fields, wild flowers, and the views. The Dales in Yorkshire are some of the finest scenery you would ever want in your life, and there is nowhere that can surpass it. The Villages you come across have the nicest people, and always speak to you, and that is more than I can say in Cities, or Towns. Yes and I am over sixty five.

  19. I've always lived on a coast but still had 'days out' to the beach as a kid. My most treasured photo is of me in 1972 being rescued by my grandad from the shoreline.

I was hoicked up by my yellow leather 'baby reign' things but what I love the most is my grandad is ankle deep in water wearing A FULL SUIT AND TIE!

I live 5 mins from the beach now and can't imagine not being able to see the sea! This is my local:-http://www.flickr.com/photos/24481894@N0...

  20. I'm an over 60 and really loved the two weeks family holiday we had every year when I a child living in north London.  The journey on the train there, with sandwiches and soda pop, checking into the B&B, days in the lovely sun (It never rains in your memories does it?) on the beach builing sandcastles, looking in rock pools for crabs (and squealing when we found one), Ice creams, candyfloss, sun hats and sun tan lotion.  fish and chips and sticks of rock, the penny arcades (they really did cost only a penny then) and bumper cars at the fun fair. We would come home, sun tanned, laughing, a happy family again, refreshed ready for work, school and the horrible English winter again and plans for saving up for the holiday the next year.

  21. A LOT OF PEOPLE PUT TEENS /AND ANY ONE REALY DOWN WHEN THEY USE THE INTERNET BUT PEOPLE FORGET THAT THERE IS A LOT OF IMFOMATION THAT PEOPLE CAN GET FROM THE NET  THINGS MOVE ON I LOVE THE MODERN TEC I DID NOT KNOW HOW TO TYPE BEFORE BUT NOW I CAN GET BY  I DO MISSPELL AS THE KEYS ARE TOO CLOSE BUT IN TIME I WILL GET BETTER ==YOU ARE OLD WHEN=YOU GET TO 65 ONWARDS

  22. I live by the sea and it is lovely both winter and summer.

  23. I grew up in London and I used to love going to the seaside as a little kid, but I suppose once I got to a certain age I preferred to stay at home and do my own thing rather than go to the beach with my parents lol. My mum lives in Littlehampton now and my kids love going to the seaside when we go and visit her - when it's not raining that is!

  24. "Students blamed boredom for their sulks"

Sorry, but bored folk are boring: ya need to learn to use initiative & make the most/best of all situations

When I was young, we had to amuse ourselves without TV, let alone PCs, iPods, MP3s etc

    & we were happy!

& grateful for whatever we got: like the Bible tells us to be

Wartime ration books lasted till 1953, when I was 5

I was 7 when we got our 1st little black & white TV - there was only BBC1 in those days too

    Like the seaside?

Enough to live in 3 seaside resorts

Work there is seasonal, but many folk learn to prefer doing 2/3 part time jobs to 1 F/T

Life is what ya make of it: it's not what happens that determines ya mood - it's how ya react to what happens

& that can be worked on & improved: channel ya determination not to let anything get ya down or keep ya down

  25. Living by the sea has it's down sides...It causes untold damge to vehicles and Houses due to the salt air....lol....(spoilsport i am).....
