Did you make winnings from the Melbourne Cup?

Just would like to hear from your winnings/losses from the Melbourne Cup. Here's my story, bet $5 on Efficient to win and won $113. Was gonna bet on Maybe Better until it got scratched off.

The one year I chose not to place a bet and all three of the horses I randomly picked came in.

I put $10 win and $10 place on efficient and the same on purple moon I also put the same on zipping so 2 out of 3 I think I did pretty good

I studied the guides all morning and i decided to put $50 ew on purple moon, because of his major staying  ability (he's an absolute tank), and having damo on him to guide him in the right direction, seemed like a sure thing. I also had a quinella for purple moon, Mahler. Was not expecting Efficient to make up the ground, (he was a concern of mine tho). Brilliant race, and, i'm only $30 down, i wanted first/second and got second/third, can't get closer than that, looking forward to nxt yr... Great run, loved it!!!
