I live in the Atlanta area in North Georgia, nearly 400 miles from the epicenter, and it woke me up from a sound sleep. The windows were rattling and my bed was shaking. I knew at once that it must be an earthquake. We had a 3.5 quake some years ago centered in Cobb County.

  1. Well I didn't feel the earthquake today. But my parents did, and I even had a dream there was an earthquake here in Chicago.

  2. I live around 50 miles from the epicenter and completely slept through it.  I didn't even feel the aftershock (I was in a gym). I missed out... :(

  3. i live 3 miles from the epicenter so...yes, i definately felt it.  it lasted for 30-45 seconds.  and we actually felt a lot of aftershocks.

  4. yeah, I live in Chicago and I definitely felt my house shaking this morning!

  5. We sure did here, near Peoria

  6. The west is far from Georgia. Not a bit was felt. It was 5.plus on the scale according to the morning news. Lets hope it did not leave much damage and no aftershocks.

  7. Oh Lordy,did I!

I'm used to my building shuddering when big trucks go past, but the quake made my bed jump.

My sleepy head told me my housemate had come in and lifted my bed to mess with me [good-naturedly,of course.]

Then,I thought I had a ghostie under my bed!

At work, someone mentioned the quake and I was all "OHHhhHHhhh......"

    All in beautiful Cincinnati,Ohio.
