It's a book I had to read for school this summer so my friend let me borrow it and I finished it in less than 30 hours. I completely loved it! The ending was amazing...I almost cried (I didn't because my dad was right there haha) but I was like "O....M...G!!"...it was a huge surprise and I just love books that do that to you. i love how Jodi made this book from all the character's views, and the end was just magnificant.

What did you think of it? Did you like the ending?

  1. yes, and i can honestly say it is the BEST book i have ever read in my life, although i read it a while ago

i cried so much,  and i dwelled on it for days (im emotional, i know)

i thought the ending was really brilliant

and i loved how we FINALLY got to see something from kate's perspective at the very end of the book.

campbell was my favourite character :)

and i also loved how jesse, "bad" jesse, became a police officer

overall, it was really just lovely.

  2. I feel the same way!  I was reading the last chapter of it in class and I had to try so hard not to cry!  Something I found comical is the reasons the lawyer had for when people asked him about his dog.  I also did not expect the twist about how her sister asked her to go to court!  That made me love the book even more, because at first I thought if she loved her sister how could she not want to save her life.  I think it takes so much more courage to watch someone you love die.

  3. loved this book, especially the ending... read some more of picoult...they are all quite good!

  4. I thought it was great and I thought the ending was so sad.  The ending was such a twist.

  5. I know, I thought it was great.  One tiny thing I found funny was all of her lawyer's excuses for his dog.  Yes, at the end, I thought it was really sad, just a strange turn of events.  I mean, it seemed like the sister would be dying shortly if she didn't get the transplant, and the protagonist would live a long, healthy life, but it just goes to show you never know what can happen.  I did like the ending, but I may have liked it more if the main character had told her family that she would do the transplant anyway.

  6. Absolutely fantastic its my 2nd favorite book i can reread over and over again.  Jodi Picoult is a awesome author.  Please read Nineteen Minutes it sure will make you think A LOT.

  7. I read it a few years ago. I really loved it, and I think the ending fit the story well, but it was really sad!

I was surprised by storyline, when we found out that it was her sister asking her to stand up in court. It was really good :)

I really like her dad too. And I loved the sort of side story with her brother and the fires.

It started me thinking about the whole issue of having a child just to save another. A very thought provoking book in general.
