"San Francisco is to hold a vote on whether to rename one of its largest sewage treatment facilities after George W. Bush, in what supporters describe as “a fitting monument to the President’s work”.

More than 8,500 signatures have already been gathered in support of the plan — 1,300 more than the minimum required to get the proposal on the November ballot. The scheme was devised by an official-sounding group called the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco.

“On matters ranging from foreign relations to fiscal and environmental stewardship, no other president in American history has accomplished so much in such a short time,” says the group on its website. “We believe this is an appropriate honour for a truly unique president. If you think so too, join this grassroots movement to rename this important and iconic landmark in his honour.”

What do you think?

  1. Hahahahaha!

I am not a liberal, but I was against this war in the beginning!

  2. No wonder they are in danger of falling into the ocean.  Karma is a *****!

  3. san francisco and its people prove once more that they are the only city with common sense remaining in a country which has fallen into the abyss of bush-neocon-fascism

  4. OMG!

    hahahahahahahah....

    this is so befitting!!

    hahahahhahaha!!

"We believe this is an appropriate honour for a truly unique president"....

and they seriously find this a tribute!!

    hahahaha!!

  5. Fitting

    very fitting

  6. Yes I did and I find it hilarious.

Here is the actual website of the group doing this:

Youcan sign the petition if you live in SF.

And to everyone: you don't have to be on the liberal left to dislike Bush. With a 28% approval rating taht woudl mean that only 28% of Americans were republicans. In fact over 50% or Americans were registered republicans before Bush came in office...a lot left the party because of him.

  7. *chuckles but really, don't we have more important things to do?

I live in the s.f./monterey bay area and I've seen quite a few proposals of this nature over the years.

What I would rather see is people spending their time and ingenuity by creating solutions that really help us all.  For instance, why don't we come up with a creative solution for the flooding problems in the midwest and the drought conditions in the southwest, like building an aqueduct or some means of transporting this important resource to much needed areas?

While it makes me laugh to think that Bush should be 'honoured' in this way, there are countless more important things people could be doing.

  8. Well, we call Bush the ****, so what is wrong with calling the **** Bush.

  9. Seems rather appropriate to name a sewage works plant  after a work of sewage with the intelligence of a plant.

  10. That is funny!  I'll make sure to flush one down in his honor.

  11. Just more disgraceful actions from the liberal left. Sickening pathetic pieces of garbage.

  12. I think liberals enjoy wallowing in their c**p

  13. ==+=+=+=+=+=+==> Welcome to San Francisco  <==+=+=+=+=+=+==

The Beatles performed here (and NEVER again returned to the U.S. again)

We named our Sewer after George W. Bush.

Then, we closed it down. Since then, in our majestic, collective opinions, the whole place just smells better.

    Enjoy your stay!!!

    ...

I'm no fan of G.W. Bush. But this is self-pejoration of the worst telling. Everyone is prone to a joke now and then - even a few less than admirable ones. But few take it so far as to gather signatures.

Besides, most of us know what would happen if the sewer disappeared and very few would enjoy the results.

    ...

  14. Very appropriate I think.

  15. Yes as a conservative I can say it is appropriate because it is a symbol how Bush as to clean up after the mess liberals make of this world.

  16. those people in san fran-sin city are pieces of sheet!!!!! for sure

  17. I think the People's Republic of San Francisco and its satellite the People's Republic of Berkley are about as representative of mainstream America as a KKK member is.  They can do as they please and one day they might even grow up and quit being dogmatic bigots.  I wonder if the Pink Ladies are part of the commission.

  18. Thw GWB administration is certainly NOT what I would call a credible conservative administration for sure.  We'd need a Ron Paul administration to clean up after the current administrations trashing of our constitutional rights, fiscal squandering & out right corruption.

Still this seems a petty move on the liberals side.  I mean the following administrations...Nixon, Carter & Clinton certainly came close to as scandalous if not as scandalous as president Bush's current administration.

I would think naming a sewage treatment plant the "Ninth Circuit Court" would be more fitting in regards to reality. Naming a brothel after the GWB administration would seem more "exact" to me.
