Did you see the Fire in London?

Question

Posting this question at 11.20 AM on 12 Nov 2007. I'm working in an office at London Bridge and can see a huge cloud of thick black smoke emanating from across the river somewhere behind Tower of London, I guess near Aldgate.

Does someone know what is it? Is there a big fire somewhere?

The London Fire Brigade were called just after 1200 GMT on Monday to reports of a huge blaze in Waterden Road, Stratford. See link for more:

Breaking news on Sky News. Reports of an explosion in the Commercial Road area. 12.26. Correction, fire near Stratford, 6 fire engines attending. 12.34.

Yes, huge fire near Stratford, Ive got BBC news 24 on tv now.  There are 6 fire appliances on their way now.  I hope no-one has been hurt.

It is on an industrial estate and possibly in an old bus depot according to police.

According to news it is the disused bus station on the olympic site.  I am not from London so i cannot be more precise than what the news are telling me.

There are no reported casualties at the moment.

Yes, Yes I can, My name is Samuel Pepys and I am at Greenwich but I can see the smoke. I understand that it started in Pudding Lane and that it is spreading across London. I must rush home and bury all my bottles of wine in the garden. I am going to write about this in my diaries.
