"Short-Term Cooling in a Warmer World"

This headline is from today’s New York Times (May 2nd 2008). This is typical of the c**p you’ll see when the facts get in the way of their beloved global warming science.

Another headline (remember children, read between the headlines) suggests environmentalists have been concerned with turning food into gasoline for a long, long time instead of this which is about deadly poison, not how warm that poison is. "E.P.A. Proposes New Limits on Lead in the Air, the First Revision in 30 Years". Congratulations greens. You never fail to disappoint me.

  1. The Times? you must be joking. When you read that paper ya' gotta' say wow! Just think if this story were true!

  2. I just answered this same type of question literally seconds ago but the same answer applies, that is assuming there is truth to this story.

"The sun does go through cycles which can heat up or cool down the earth. If we are experiencing a solar cooling event it will only mean that the effects of global warming will be dampened a bit, and the earth may warm still further anyway.

But the question this really begs is what happens when the sun goes back to a warming cycle, this will mean global warming magnified. With untold tonnage of CO2, Methane and other heat trapping gases being emitted each year don't you think when the sun cycles enviably shift this will have a profound effect? To me it is as intuitively obvious as seeing dark clouds and knowing it is going to rain.

Besides Nasa's prediction are yet to be seen and with Bush in the White House and the EPA scandal that is going on it is hard to trust any government organization."

  3. Did you see the next article ?

End of the world in 5 minutes, details tomorrow.

  4. I don't know if I would refer to myself as a "green" but I do take reasonable steps to lower my carbon footprint, such as using biodegradable items whenever possible, recycling, avoiding plastic packaging, planting trees on my small acreage,  etc.  Why not?  I have nothing to lose and the Earth has everything to gain.

It beats the heck out of sitting around with an unearned sense of smug superiority.
