Did you take a gap year before going to uni?

Im hopeing to take a gpa year next year but im finding it difficult to decide what to do and how to go about it, ive looke don quite a few websites though about it.

I either want to work for half a year then go travelling, or do volunteer work.

Or Work abroad

I am interetsed in going to places such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Los Angles, Mexico, Barbados

In my day in the 60´s you had to work to gain experience before going onto further education. Not just that, but to help finance yourself through your education. I fail to see why young people today find this less important.
