  1. I use my glider all the time! I love it! My daughter is 10 months and i still use it often.

  2. I think they both work the same ways, a glider is a little more comfortable but i would settle for a rocking chair!!! They will both get the job done!!! Good LUCK

    GOD BLESS

  3. My glider was a god send with my second daughter. It's super comfy and you get to be in a good position while feeding. I'll be using the same one when this baby is born. It was the best gift I got.

  4. I used a regular rocking chair when I nursed my babies. It was a gift from my mom. They didn't have gliders back then, but I would think those would be great too. Nursing time was such a great bonding time with my babies, the rocking was just so natural a thing to do. Never miss a chance to rock your baby. Time passes so quickly and then the next thing you know, they're too big to rock.

  5. We have a glider & ottoman. Love it! We've used it a lot and still do. Our daughter loves to be rocked in it. Of course a rocking chair would do the same trick I'm sure so you could go with that.

  6. The rocking chair in my living room was just fine.

  7. It would not be a waste of money. Before I had my son I swore I didn't need one... I soon regretted that decision! They are wonderful to have.

  8. I used a glider for the last baby out of 3, and it was nice, but not necessary.  Once the baby grows a bit, their legs push against the arms, or they bump their heads, and then it just becomes a pain in the butt!  A rocking chair works fine too if you are comfortable in it.

I think the best investment is a nursing pillow.  It can be used anywhere - chair, couch, etc., and can help baby learn to sit when they are older.

    Congratulations!

  9. Didn't use either...... I say they are not really needed, I see that others disagree.

My opinion is Glider over rocker, but neither is needed

  10. I love my glider! A nice cushioned rocker would be good, too, though. I got a really good deal on my glider with a gliding ottoman at K-Mart. Check for sales! A glider or a rocking chair don't really take up much room, and it's nice for helping the baby go to sleep.

  11. I liked the glider chair ... esp in the middle of the night .. I did all the night time feeds for our twins ... and it was just comfy ... I really enjoyed my time with the girls in the glider ....

  12. I love my glider!  We didn't have it the first couple of nights my son was home and it was so much better once we got it!  I'm sure a rocking chair would be ok, too, but I think gliders are the best.

  13. I love our glider!  I breast and bottle fed both my girls and it was very nice.  Mine also has an ottoman, which I love as well.  Walmart has a glider that is about 85.00.  Do they make regular rocking chairs anymore?

  14. Certainly not needed, but very very nice!  I never nursed in mine because it was too narrow and my baby was too long and would hit his head or feet.  But I use it often to calm him before bed time and to read stories.

I nursed on the couch usually.

  15. I got a glider from my SIL and I love it!!  I actually loved it when pregnant as well.  It was the only comfortable seat in the house.  Now, I love to nurse my baby in my glider with a Boppy.  Very comfortable.

Try to find a used one on craigslist.org or at a yard sale.
