Did you used to have a CB radio in the 80s?

I did...My name was Firefly from leeds....only thing was,it died a death really quickly.....what was your cb handle.....?

No.  A decade later My Federal Communication Commission VHF

ship radio license listed my vessel as "White Trash" and that was

the usual 'handle' in marine traffic following a six digit registration.

I recieved two random signals from the UK years ago.   Logbook

shows one was a trawler out of Portland and another sounded like

North Sea platform chatter.

yep i did,WIREMAN was my handle and my 20 HALIFAX, quite near to you we had many great friends on ch 26 every night, and no typing. Thanks for the memory.

my mum and her ex hubby had a few, i remember when i was about 7 years old lying in my bed and hearing them talking on them...all that crackling, i can still hear it to this day nearly 20 years on!

HI in 1979 i got my first cb as a present,to this day i still have the same radio ,a Stalker 9 (25.615-28.000) EPROM CONVERSION,   AND IT STILL WORKS, now the radio i use is a Icom 706mk11 great radio..My handle back in the day was LEAGLE EAGLE ,Yes im gone red now,Also the group im still a member of for the past 20 odd years is the VLF (very low freq)group  and we monitor 26.470 for any body intersted in dropping by...Best Regards Steve

Yes I had one a big midland home base it was used by me as Falconcrest and my wife was Rambling Rose. I no longer have it which is a pity it was fun.
