  1. I watched that and cried. The millionaire gave away loads this time, I think thats the most they've ever given away too!!!

  2. My mum called me and told me it was on she thought I'd be interested as Possil n Maryhill are the areas where I spent most of my life for a few years before moving to Belfast. It was emotional for me because it reminds of the kind of life I could be back to if I ever move home! It also reminded me that not all the people in those areas that have a hard life have that hard life through faults of their own!

You could tell that he wasn't going to choose between them and I bet he gives more than he said he would on the TV

I think i got that wrong, I dont remember him helping out the wee wumin with the beard!!!

For anyone that didnt see it you can watch all channel 4 shows for 7 days after its shown just like you can with BBC.  Heres the link:

    http://www.channel4.com/

You need Windows media Player 11 or higher, you can download it from this site if you need to

  3. I'm not sure what to make of this programme.

On the one hand it shows human nature at it's best, focussing on people who are kind, caring and community spirited, it also give airtime to the tremendous work they do in deprived areas.

On the other hand it strikes me as a bit of a condescending and voyeuristic. A bit "look at the poor people".

I'm also a bit disappointed that the message still seems to be; I'm rich, and with a waive of my chequebook I can solve your problems (without actually solving any problems).

  4. yeah, my dad was originally from glasgow so it was interesting on a personal level as well, but yeah i thought it was an extra good one, especially as he he gave a sum then invested for 5years so they could plan and keep stuff going longer.  yeah i think its just as much about the atmosphere as well (football bit) and i thought it was thoughtful

  5. yes even though he was a rangers fan that stilll quite shane how people didint talk to him after he was blind fu.c king wan.kers

  6. Sometimes wish I was blind for the last 5 years worth of Raith games, on a serious note, yeah, it was a great, touching gesture

  7. It was fantastic and even although I am a Celtic fan, that wee guy also touched my heart. I have met a blind guy at Celtic Park and his 'describer' this guy tells the blind guy about the action and describes how the game is going. I am sure that there will be someone at Ibrox who will do this service too.

Nick was brilliant on the show and went over the odds in his charitable gifts to those very much in need.

It was a very good show and has got me thinking that maybe Malks and I could open the chequebook and do something similar but then my brother is more ruthless than me. Hahahaha!!!!

  8. you know what they say every cloud has a silver lining at least there is one gers fan that deserves to be there

  9. Yeah it was a good show, the guy getting the Rangers ticket was great, such small gesture (money wise) but it meant so much to him.  Puts last weeks millonaire to shame, she "only" gave away £45,000 between 2 causes

  10. yes  i watched and blubbed like a baby when he was giving everyone their money...really moving to see how genuinely moved they were...and i hope he enjoys the games..he deserves to..

  11. carrie i can relate to that programme i have a 20 year old son with fragile x syndrome and autism...and i can honestly say hand on heart that disable people are as honest as the night and day and the only thing they crave for is equality...

  12. Your question will go down well in Weegie land saying the "poor people of Glasgow"

  13. my lad lost his sight 10 yrs ago through 3 brain tumours. we were invited through to ibrox and celtic park .both squads were fantastic .they also gave myself and son match tickets . it is possible for match audio headphones at the match at most grounds.but my lad usually just listens to me shouting ma mouth off. but he usually pipes up ,ref do you want me to take over.what this man has done is fantastic I'm lucky i can afford to take my lad to football as its a highlight of his week.but some folk are less fortunate.

  14. A canny help but laugh at the irony here.

Giving a BLIND MAN a 5 year Season ticket to see Rangers, brilliant.

"He will only hear the match of course", no **** sherlock! as I doubt giving somebody a Rangers season ticket, would actually cure blindness.

  15. i thought it was a great show.

Iv never saw it before and the generosity of the guy was super human,

i just hope that the rest of the worlds millionaires, and us lucky people to have our health all paid attention to it.

  16. I would challenge anyone to watch that show and not be moved by it. It was truly heartwarming, i wish our millionaire football stars would give a similar gesture.

  17. what a guy and the wee auld women thats been keeping that place open both have a heart of gold!

bluebell- i seen your bf dancing it the start! LOL

  18. Programme was so good last night that it kept me off of yahoo answers for an hour. And yes it was moving to see the Rangers fan get his season ticket for the next 5 years.

  19. I was hormonal and actually cried. I thought it was so moving.
