I am almost 23 weeks and last time I went to the doctor, the doctor put the doppler on my belly and every time she would get the heartbeat my daughter would move away, I got all worried, but the doctor told me there was nothing to worry about, she said its actually good it means she responds well to touch, she does the same thing if I am playing with my belly she will move away...did your baby ever do this?

  1. when i was pregnant with my now 5 yr old daughter, i was in the hospital after a car accident and they put a fetal monitor around my belly to keep track of her heartbeat.  well, several times through the night an alarm went off because they lost her heartbeat because she kept scooching away from it - it was rather amusing!

  2. that's normal. don't worry especially since your doc said its okay.

  3. My baby does this also.  It's just a reflex kick that the baby is responding to the sounds it hears when the doppler is glided over your belly.  it's perfectly normal.

  4. This morning my little guy kicked me really hard both times my doctor put the doppler on me.

I'm also 23 weeks and he will kick when I push on my stomach in a spot. I try to get him to kick where I push, lol, pregnant fun.

  5. Yes, that's perfectly normal. If you were in there and someone was poking at you, you would probably do the same thing. =) Don't worry, especially if your OB isn't concerned there is definitely nothing wrong.

  6. Thats perfectlly normal, and your doctor is right, its very good, my daugter never ever ever sat still when my doctor went to listen to her heartbeat, in fact three times she kicked the doppler, its very well they respond to touch, that means when shes born she will be more advanced

  7. LOL!!  Sounds like my little boy!!  I went in for a 4-D ultrasound for pictures to show to plastic surgeons.  Drank caffeine and the whole shebang.  What did my little guy do?  He kept his mouth covered with his hands (we were trying to look closer at his cleft) and kept turning away from the picture.  The little toot!  The doctor seriously got frustrated and even tried turning him manually.  Still no luck.  We're going back in a week or two to try again.  He also really dislikes it when I lay on my right side.  He takes his little foot and pushes it right into my ribs until I move.  And yesterday, I was leaning against a counter at work and he pushed back!  I think he was saying "Hey, there's someone in here, you know!  Back off!"  It was funny.  Anyway, yeah, babies don't always cooperate, even when they are still inside!

  8. Mine would always move away from the doppler too, and he would always stop moving when I touched my belly, but now that I'm almost 29 weeks he will kick you back if you poke my belly.

My hubby likes to blow raspberries on belly and the baby will kick him in the mouth. LOL

  9. Yes, my last one and this one did the same thing.  Actually, with my last, my 2nd trimester ultrasound showed him holding up his fists like a boxer!!!!  My last trimester was uncomfortable with him because he was always moving around and it seemed like he would stretch out as far as he could, it literally made me come up out of my seat!  Also, in the last trimester with him, sometimes when he moved (which was all the time), it looked like something was trying to pop right out of my belly (you know like the movie Alien?)!  He was 9 pounds even, so maybe yours will be big too?

The movement is a good thing:)
