  1. Have a look at

on weaning.  It gives good advice.

It depends on your baby's age really.  It may be a case they just need more milk.  If you decide to wean always make sure they take a full milk feed first before offering solids and don't force your baby to take them if they show no interest.  All the very best.

  2. all babies are different, with formula milk they can put on weight by 3 or 4 lb a week , if yours is over 4 months old why don't you try adding 1/2 a rusk mashed up into milk, if baby will tolerate you should notice weight gain within 2 weeks.

  3. All mine started on solids from about 4 months no because they weren't gaining weight but because they were hungry

  4. This happened to us - he was healthy, just not getting enough calories! I think he started around 3 months on baby foods (I don't remember), and I know for sure that by six months he was totally on table food. It was Easter and he ate ham, sausage, Easter breads, eggs, potato salad, etc. !!! No ill effects, he was a happy camper once he started having people food. In fact, I was stuck with tons of jars of junior food because we totally skipped that stage (I had bought a whole bunch on sale, and ended up donating them.).
