Question:

Did your child do okay at preschool for the first time?

I'm anxious because my daughter starts preschool tomorrow, and she can be a bit of a troublemaker. She's mischievous and strong willed. She's very well behaved for the most part, but if she thinks she can get away with something when no one's looking, she'll try.

I'm worried she's going to need a lot of guidance because she's going to a school where you're not allowed to use items unless you've been instructed on how to do so. I don't know how she's going to react to that. I'm afraid she's going to go in and think it's fun runaround play time even though for the past few weeks we've been talking to her about how it's work time, and it's not play time.

Maybe I just don't know what to expect. But all kids are kind of rough when they start out, right? I've had her in classes all summer, hoping that she would get used to the idea of being in a class where you have to listen to an instructor, and so on. I'm a SAHM, so she's never been in daycare before so this whole thing is going to be new.

I'm nervous because I keep reading blogs or questions on here where kids get kicked out of preschool, and I'm like, GAHHHHHH you can get kicked out of preschool!?!?!?!?!

  1. today is my daughters first day, and shes doing good so far.  most kids start out alittle rough.  i stayed there for a couple hours and i saw alot of kids crying and wanting to go off to do their own thing.  my daughters class had 3 teachers, so your probably should  have at least 2 to keep her in line.

  2. I'm in the same position you are.  We had my son's interview with his teacher last week and I told her all of my concerns.  I felt better giving her a heads up.  Also I wrote down what works for my son and what makes him angry.  Today was his first day.  He did really well (aside from a 5 minute crying session because I was leaving)  I'm a stay at home mom too, all we can do is cross our fingers and hope we've been doing our

job the past three years.  I can't comprehend how a child could get kicked out of preschool.....and hopefully I'll never have to!  Good Luck!
