Did your parents let you drive home the day you got your permit?

Nope, they still didn't trust me driving yet. :/

Yes my dad did, even though its not legal, because you have to have all of your drivers training complete for your permit to be valid. But this is in California, I'm not too sure about other states. Remember though practice makes perfect! Just dont get caught by a chipper!

Nope. In fact, the whole time I had my learners permit (Australia) 12 months, I drove a total of 2 times. Once in my Pops car in a carpark, to learn how to use a clutch, then once in my parents car, to the shops and back, a total of approx 2km.

I still remember it like it was yesterday (June 1984).  My mom took me to the DMV, I drove, she has a license but don't drive, btw.  After passing the "behind-the wheel" test...1st try, of course...had no choice BUT to drive home.  When we arrived at the house, I dropped her off and off to my friend's house by myself!
