Did your son with Aspergers ever ask if he could wear colored underwear?

Did your son with Asapergers ever say that he wanted to wear colored underwear as he saw his friends wear it and he sees it at school when changing for pe. What colors did he want to wear. Did you get him colored briefs. What age did he want to switch from white to colored, Did you say anything to encourage him? I know people with Aspergers would want to try and fit in. Any tips on if one should just buy colored underwear and not buy white if you have a son at the right age.

A friend asked me so I wanted to know your responses.

as a future educator I am currently taking lab hours working with children with aspergers and autism. You didn't say how old the child is but I would say it is perfectly normal for a young boy to want to wear the colored ones. Underwear are hidden except for during pe so it doesn't matter tell her there is nothing wrong with him he is just being normal.

I would definitely buy him what he wants. It is great that he is actually noticing what other people are doing. Many Asperger's kids don't really notice styles, so this is a good thing.

Do you have a fetish for Aspergers, fires, and underwear?  Seriously...what's up with all the weird questions?

Aspies get picked on a lot for being different.  If he is asking for colored underwear, then the other kids are already picking on him about not having it.  Take him to the store and get it for him.  Make him go with you because you might pick something stupid (i.e.-Something with Barney or Mickey Mouse on it).  

The same thing goes for briefs vs boxers.  Personally, I'd rather go to school buck naked than to wear a pair of boxers, but that's just me.  Your son may feel differently.  Going without underwear is another option.
