Didactic groups?

How would you run a didactic group? Would it be mostly lecture on the topic or would you do half group discussion. What's the best way?

  1. I would do primarily lecture, and set aside about 15 minutes for a group discussion. I guess it really depends on the topic, but I find that group discussions tend to be heated or stale, no in-between. I think the most important thing is for the students to feel engaged and able to ask questions.
