The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 manager has slammed Ligue 1-based players and blamed the clubs for not being tough enouogh on the players' discipline
Didier Deschamps has always been a demanding coach which is why he has had issues with a few players throughout his playing and coaching career. While talking to an Italian journalist, the former World Cup winner admitted that he was impressed by the Azzurri
during the Euros earlier this summer and put a lot of emphasis on the incredible competitiveness and team spirit of the Italian players.
And, the Frenchman is keen on seeing his team reach the same level as Cesare Prandelli’s men.
It is obvious the DD’s statements come in a dark and lucid manner due to the lax nature of French clubs and the players playing in those outfits.
The former Marseille coach feels that French players playing in Ligue 1 get more liberties than other players do in the bigger leagues.
“In Ligue 1, French players have a lot more freedom that in the big leagues. In major foreign clubs, if you do not submit to the match day, if you do not get your mentality right, they push you to go beyond yourself and never give you any excuse. d**n it
if you regularly let too many small breaches of professionalism.”
The Frenchman’s speech also reflects on the pitfalls he came across during his time as the manager of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127. After coaching Juventus, and even playing for them for a few years, Deschamps knows the importance of professionalism and feels
that there are a lot of shortcomings in the French players.
Deschamps says that if a Ligue 1 player is accused of something, he is never properly sanctioned by its club which is the reason why players have become complacent as they know that they will always get out of the woods.
Deschamps claims that Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti would also agree with him and that he is not alone in analysing this situation.
“When Carlo came, I can tell you that he was surprised by the mentality and attitudes. Compared to the clubs he managed in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, he quickly realised the uniqueness of our football. Today, with the support of his leaders, he has solved the problem.”
And, DD feels that if the club owners are willing to do this, they can stamp complacency out of their players.
