The Olympique de Marseille coach has regained his good humour and while talking to the media, expressed the important of doing well in the last few games of the campaign
In turmoil after nine defeats in 10 Ligue 1 games, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 are in 10th place in the Championnat. With just five games left, Les Phoceens will have to do well in them just to save face. For his part, coach Didier Deschamps gave a
press conference.
The OM coach, whose competence is now being challenged by many people, decided to approach the questions with a dose of irony.
A few days back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 publicly criticised a few of his teammates for not doing well for the team on purpose. And for his part, DD launched a few well-placed spikes of his own.
The Frenchman has been linked with a managerial position at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863. When a journalist asked him about the La Liga side’s interest, Deschamps came up with a reply that one was not expecting of him.
“Well Valencia, as a city is and as a club? You just take a plane and go see for yourself.”
When asked by a reporter about his opinion of websites who are talking about his future destination, Deschamps said, “I have nothing against these sites, but the Jedi always win.”
This statement was a reference to the Star Wars and Sith, who are the opponents of the Jedi.
Nevertheless, the former Juventus manager did avoid questions about the state of mind of his players. Despite criticism and defeats, Deschamps claims that his players still have the desire to win.
Deschamps says that there are five games left and players should do well for the club in order to respect Marseille’s values and image.
“We have five games left and must give a positive ending for respecting the values and image of the club. the intentions and the desire we have, but we must start exchanging blows. We must give everything.”
Next up, Les Phoceens play against Lorient, a team that’s fighting for survival in Ligue 1 so Marseille will have to do really well in order to register a long-awaited win.
