Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-c4710 Del Piero might end their ‘Storia del amor’ next season and Olympique de Marseille coach Didier Deschamps is keen on signing the Italian legend
At the age of 37, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 international has made over 500 appearances for La Vecchia Signora and knows that he will never become an integral part of the squad in
the future due to his advancing years.
However, the forward is not looking to hang up his boots just yet and is willing to have one last challenge before he puts curtains on a glorious career that has seen him everything that World and club football has to offer.
Despite his age, Del Piero is a coveted player. during the January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti made no secret of his desire to sign the striker. However, it seems that Ancelotti is not alone in wishing to coach the great man.
Reports now claim that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 coach, Didier Deschamps is willing to give the striker one last challenge before he retires.
“I have a lot of respect for what Del Piero has done in his career and he will soon decide his future. But if he decided to come to Marseille, I would receive him with open arms because he is a champion and a great man that I have been fortunate to have
played with and also coached.”
The duo played together at Juventus and when the Turin giants were relegated following the Calciopoli scandal, Deschamps guided Juventus back to Serie A.
At 37, Del Piero might not have those legs anymore but his vast experience of playing at the top so consistently would be something the likes of Gadi, Omrani and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Ayew-c19098 would treasure.
However, Del Piero’s wage demands and interest of other clubs could be a major hurdle. Clubs from UAE and a few franchises from the Major League Soccer are keen on signing the World Cup winner which means that all Deschamps can do is keep his fingers crossed
and wait to see what Del Piero decides to do.
