The France coach feels that his side could have scored more goals in the match against Finland last night, but is happy with his team’s performance nonetheless
Les Bleus started their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note, with a 1-0 victory against Huuhkajat.
It was the first real test for the new French coach and Deschamps is glad to be on the winning side.
The former Marseille coach is satisfied with his side’s first win of the campaign, but has admitted that Les Bleus need to improve considerably, if they want to become a top team in Europe.

While talking to reporters, Didier Deschamps stated that their opponents played very defensively and they made life difficult for the French team.

"In general, we did not start well. We had opportunities in the second half, but there were two beautiful saves from the Finnish goalkeeper,"

Deschamps said that he wanted another goal from his side in order to put the game to bed. However, Finland played pretty well in the dying moments of the match and they tested France to the limit.
"It's a shame. In the end, there were dangerous situations. (When) we do not score the second goal, (the result) is never safe. It is good to win."
