For a long time, Didier Deschamps’ future at the club was uncertain and what many people expected, happened as the former World Cup winner chose to walk away from the club due to various reasons.
The situation became ideal for the France Football Federation whose president, Noel Le Graet, always wanted to replace Laurent Blanc. After having a meeting with the Cevennes native, Le Graet accepted Blanc’s resignation.
Reports claim that last night, Le Graet approached Didier Deschamps regarding the France vacancy. However, it has been said that Deschamps has said no to Le Graet’s advances. Reports claim that there is a particular clause in Deschamps’ contract for Marseille which prevents him from immediately signing for another club or national team after his departure.
However, for now, the presence of that mysterious clause is mere speculation as nothing has been confirmed so far.
The fact remains that the France Football Federation faces an embarrassing situation after seeing Deschamps decline Le Graet’s advances. The President was hopeful of announcing the identity of the future Les Bleus manager tomorrow morning.
And, he was quite confident that he will be able to convince Deschamps into becoming the national team manager. It gets even more embarrassing for FFF considering that multiple tracks still remain dormant.
