Deschamps added that the Red Devils playmaker can play as an attacking midfielder or on wide left, and has the ability to make space and provide a killer pass.
"He can play just behind the striker or on the left. There will be no special plan to try and counter him, but he can make space for himself and provide a killer pass. He's a player who has a lot of quality in the attacking final third."
On a question regarding his team selection for the Japan game, the 43-year-old said that he still needs to decide on France's centre-back partnership, following the suspension of Montpellier’s Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
However, Deschamps is not taking any hasty decision and will announce his starting eleven few hours before the kick-off.
"Hugo's already played with the four defenders who'll be there. You'll no doubt be following the centre-back partnership closely, so will I, but I won't draw any hasty conclusions."
