Didier Deschamps talks about sensitive issues at Olympique de Marseille – Ligue 1 news
Relieved by his side’s recent victory over bitter rivals Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 coach Didier Deschamps spoke about a turbulent period experienced by everyone related to the club.
Following their historic win over PSG, Marseille seem to be rejuvenated and might still have a chance of mounting a title assault come the business end of the current campaign. From his spat with Jose Anigo to his war of words with an unsettled Andre-Pierre
Gignac, Didier Deschamps is certainly not enjoying life a lot at the moment and the win over PSG gave the Frenchman a big reason to smile.
While talking to the media for the first time since his verbal assault with Gignac, Deschamps did not hesitate to come down hard on the former Toulouse striker.
“He had an inappropriate attitude with abusive words in front of everyone who understood the words very well. There is a penalty for that, after all he is an employee of the club. In France, you don’t do whatever you want, there is the legal side of things,
and players are protected so we will make a decision on Tuesday. The President will take it because it is he who must decide.”
While Vincent Labrune is yet to make a decision on Gignac’s antics, Deschamps compared differences on management in England and France. The former Juventus man admitted that in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, the coach has a lot of power but things are more complicated here in
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. With Deschamps not seemingly getting along with the sporting director Jose Anigo as well, the former France international has quite blatantly taken a swipe at the complications in French coaching hierarchy where the coach is just one piece of the puzzle.
While talking about his public outburst with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/José-c19246 Anigo, Deschamps admitted that there was a lot of animosity between the two but also said that he will not forget what happened. The public bashing between Deschamps and Anigo is being considered as a war
for power at the club but Anigo has since then (after the controversy) disappeared from the scene which simply means that Deschamps’ position at the club is for now not under any scrutiny.
