And Les Bleus coach, Didier Deschamps, is far from pleased with the result as he believes that the hosts were the better side of the two.
While talking to reporters, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 coach stated that his side didn’t deserve to lose on Saturday, and they created a lot of chances on the pitch. The coach added that draw would have been a positive result but losing like that
is really disappointing.
"If you can't win a match, you should at least be able not to lose it.”
Deschamps said that France were really impressive in the game and they created a number of goalscoring opportunities, but they lacked the cutting edge that cost them dearly in the end. The coach feels that Les Bleus should have scored in the first half to
take control of the game, which they failed to do so.
“It's painful and even undeserved given how well we played but if you're not effective up front, you leave space behind you. The result hurts, but we created a lot of dangerous situations and some good chances.”
The former World Cup winning captain stated that results like this often happen in football and he accepts that. France were clearly the dominant side but they failed to take their chances and Samurai Blue punished them for that.
“This happens in football, it's not always the dominant side that wins; we found that out the hard way tonight.”
Praising his players, the coach said that he is satisfied with players’ attitude but added that they need to improve considerably if they want to do well against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in their next World Cup qualifier.
“I was happy with the way the lads played against a packed defence, the number of chances we created and the variety in our movement.”
