Didier Drogba expresses resolve to stay at Chelsea
Chelsea striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 has made it clear that he does not intend to leave the Blues.
The Ivorian international claims that he has everything he could possibly want at Stamford Bridge.
Drogba joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 from French club Marseille back in the summer of 2004. Since then, he has established himself as one of the deadliest strikers of the world. The player has become something of an icon at Stamford Bridge, and for many fans, it is inconceivable
that Drogba could ever leave the Blues to join another club.
Luckily for Chelsea supporters, Didier Drogba shares that view. The striker has claimed that he is having the time of his life with the London club, revealing that he no longer harbours any desires of playing elsewhere.
Speaking on his future with the reigning English champions, Drogba said, “I have everything I dream of at Chelsea. I'm at a great club with extraordinary team-mates, in a perfect life for my family. A few years ago, I could say 'I dream of playing for AC
Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United'. However, today I no longer feel the need.”
He added, “I'm at one of the best clubs in the world. These desires left me long ago.”
Drogba’s future with Chelsea had been under intense speculation ever since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 joined the club in the January 2011 transfer window. With Didier Drogba getting less playing time since the Spaniard’s arrival, there were persistent reports that
the Ivorian international could be heading to greener pastures in the summer. But with Drogba’s recent comments, those rumours have been put to bed.
It will be fantastic news for Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, who can now focus fully on preparing his squad for the crucial Premier League encounter against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Chelsea will be looking for nothing less than a win, as they look to secure their place in the Champions League next season with a top four finish. The Blues currently lie in fifth place in the League standings with a total of 45 points.
