Didier Drogba states that he is not leaving Chelsea
Amidst recent speculation, it was largely believed that Chelsea’s Ivorian forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 would soon be on his way out of Stamford Bridge. The forward has gone on to spend far too much time on the bench and sidelines, ever since the arrival of Fernando
Torres at the club.
Along those lines, the striker's season this time around has not been up to par with the performances that one has come to expect of him. The player has managed to net only 10 goals this season, which is a rather low number when compared to his normal seasonal
stats. However, the fact that he was diagnosed to have malaria could be a probability as to why the player hasn’t been at his high scoring form in recent weeks.
However when asked about the club and his future at the Stamford Bridge, Drogba is reported to have said, “I have everything I could dream of at Chelsea. I am at a great club, with amazing team-mates, with a perfect living environment for my family.”
“Some years ago I could have said, ‘I dream to play at AC Milan, Real, or Manchester United’. But nowadays I don’t feel such desire anymore. I am at one of the best clubs in the world. Those desires have been gone for a while.” added the Chelsea forward.
The striker came forth with these comments only days after he was being linked with moves to both Marseille and Real Madrid. It was believed that both the clubs were looking to make bids for the striker at the end of the season, in hopes to guarantee him
first-team action.
Nonetheless, it seems like Drogba has finally managed to get mentally attached to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and is in no mood to part ways with the club. However, at the end of the day, if an offer of around 10 to 15 million pounds is made for the player by either club, then
perhaps the club that he loves so much, might just be forced to let him go.
Drogba's age plays a major role in this equation. At 32 years old, it is safe to say that his peak years are well behind him and that it is only going to be a downward hill from here on out. Keeping that in mind, Chelsea might just want to cash in on their
asset and get the maximum profit that they possibly could.
That being said, it is still unclear as to what the future really holds for Drogba, and it is going to be a wait till the end of the season to see who the player ends up playing for next season.
