Chelsea legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 has revealed his next move will be “interesting” and that he will making an announcement regarding his new club very soon.
The 34-year-old is available on a free transfer after rejecting a one year contract offered by Chelsea. He was crucial in helping the Blues to the FA Cup and their first ever UEFA Champions League trophy last season, but refused to remain on with the London side.
He has been linked with various sides since his contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shanghai-Shenhua-c40497. The side are reportedly willing to offer him a huge contract if agrees to sign with them.
Meanwhile, a reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid also seems to be on the cards. Mourinho has always been a fan of the Ivory Coast international, having signed him at Chelsea when he was in charge at the club in 2004.
Drogba refused to comment on what his next step would be, but confirmed that it would be interesting. He urged his supporters to be patient and wait for him to make an announcement regarding his future decision of where he would go on to play.
Drogba said in an interview:
“The next step is interesting. I will announce it soon. But as of now, you will just have to wait.”
As for his time at Chelsea, Drogba was full of praise for the London club. He revealed it had been extremely difficult for him to leave Stamford Bridge, which had been home to him for eight years. Drogba arrived at the club in 2004 and after winning four FA Cups, three Premier League titles and two Football League Cups and FA Community Shield along with the UEFA Champions League, departs the London club.
He revealed:
“Chelsea were very good for me. I shared a special relationship with the club. It was a difficult decision to leave them.”
Drogba has made a total of 341 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and has an impressive goal tally of 157 goals and 71 assists.
