  1. Actually, it's reversed.  BP acquired Amoco in '98.  The name for Amoco stations was changed to BPAmoco up until '00.  The source specifically says that by May of this year, the Amoco name was mostly phased out.  This kind of seems contradictory to an extent, but you get the idea.
