Question:

Didn't John McCain take the wind out of Barack Obama's sails by tapping Sarah Patin for VP choice?

It's a homerun coup of the election. What can Obama and Biden credibly attack without highlighting their own shortcomings?

  1. they can mention she backed Pat Buchanan for president..........

that should scare most intelligent folks................

I know I sure wouldn't vote for such an imbecile.

  2. Delusional question.  The Democrats are strong, united, energized.  Palin, who nobody has heard of is barely a blip on the radar.  McCain looks uncomfortable with her, and by contrast, Obama and Biden are very confident and powerful and a good match.

McCain and Palin don't have a combined lung power to blow bubbles, so Obama's sails are moving along just fine.

  3. Yesss, McCain is a wise  man.

  4. The Dems are hysterical that Obama's coronation got bumped off the news cycle in less than 24 hrs! ROFLMAO!

Also notice how the lib media went from Obama praise and worship to Palin smearing and bashing on the flip of a dime?!

    Smells like desperation to me!

The Republicans gave us the first black Secretary of State

The Republicans gave us the first black WOMAN Secretary of State

The Republicans gave us the first female Supreme Court Justice

The Republicans gave us an administration under Bush with the most women and minorities of any previous administration

AND NOW: The Republican's will give us the first woman Vice President

  5. Not really, I think this was a really weak choice on the part of McCain, and it points to the fact that he thinks he's in trouble and picks some wild card hoping to hedge the female, and youthful vote.

However, being a female I can tell you that it's going to take alot more than having the same plumbing to get me to vote for someone. Sarah Palin has no law background, she has very little experience running a state. And the state she is running does not face the all the same issues as states that are home to major metropolitan cities, she was mayor of a town of 6500 people, who cares?? That town is a speck on the map. A city of 6500 people in rural Alaska does not have the same problems or scale of problems as a city of 5 million or a country of 300 million. Eating moose and having pelts on your wall, does not make you relate to the middle class people of America. Being a mom of five kids that someone else is obviously taking care of does not help you relate to the women of America.

Being VP is a full time 24/7 job, who is going to be taking care of her 4 month old special needs baby, and further more why does she even want to leave that baby to take on the Vice President role? It's rather distasteful in my opinion.

I am all for a woman in office, but I would prefer one that has experience with real issues and one that does not take office at the expense of raising all the children she choose to bring into the world. I can not relate to this woman at all. The non-moose eating middle class is struggling to fill their gas tanks, and being that most of us don't have a governor's salary to fall back, and the free living arrangements and expenses it comes with, we are struggling to buy groceries and worrying about our jobs, we are holding off starting our own family because costs are so high you have to pick between putting gas in your car to get to work or having money to pay for daycare. Unlike Sarah Palin who has babies she doesn't have to take care of, I would actually have to take care of mine, and figure out how to pay for daycare, and still afford my home, and get to work, and feed my family. I don't have the option of shooting a moose for food and taking a snow mobile to work. Frankly I can not imagine anything more terrifying than John McCain, who's 73 kicking the bucket, and this character he picked being president of the US.

  6. Yes, Absolutely

  7. I was hoping he would select me to be his VP. After all, I represented my home room in student council in high school. Why did he go with someone less qualified??

  8. Not at all. McCain's numbers have not improved with Palin. Many Hillary Clinton supporters are not going for the lies espoused by McCain. McCain is making a fool out of them by selecting a "Yes woman".

Even FoxNews agrees that Palin will not be able to bring females:

  9. Yes, they did and isn't that really more important than picking a VP candidate who could lead the country in a troubled world if called upon.

Sure makes a mockery of the convention slogan: Country First.

It should be "Republican Party First"

  10. I kind of thought McCain's choice was a joke, and I was waiting for him to say "Kidding!" Seriously, Palin's nomination is like the script from a very, very bad Disney movie. Now that I know McCain wasn't kidding, the only question for me now is will Dean Jones be playing the role of Palin's husband?

  11. I think the Republicans surprised them for sure.

  12. Yeah McCain Steal Limelight from Obama Now I hope Hurricane Gustav another weird name Steals the Limelight from McCain and The GOP has it Should since they did Nothing Last Time one Hurricane Hit New Orleans.

  13. I did not know it was announced that McCain got to tap Sarah Patin.

  14. Give me a few minutes to talk to Gov. Palin and she'll be PALE-ing. Stick her on the streets of Chicago for a night alone and let's see how prepared she feels to lead this nation after McSame dies. Many mayors have more diverse "executive experience" than she does, and she's only dealt with fairly easy gov't issues, not deficit, foreclosure, crime... Her state is less populous than some suburbs in this country.

  15. NObama is going down like the Titanic now!

  16. He took the wind out, b/c the day after Baracks big speech, the VP was announced.

Normally, media would have discussed Baracks speech. Now media is discussing the pick.

I am in the minority by saying this, but I think McCain is going to win.

  17. Yes,McCain the man and Sarah Palin is the woman.

    McCain/Palin 08!!!!

  18. Exactly. Obama is qualified to be President with no experience because he is male. But Palin with no experience  isn't qualified because she is a woman? How moronic and sexist is that?

  19. he hit it out of the park.PALIN IS PERFECT!!!

  20. McCain picked an awesome VP pick. Palin is a great leader and has very good values. I am really excited about Sarah Palin. She will be the first woman vice president. And, if for some reason if when McCain would be in office and he could no longer be president, she would be a great substitute. I agree with the first person who answered this question. NOBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. LOL stick her on the streets of Chicago at night and im pretty sure there would be some dead thugs if they bothered her. I think Palin is perfect. She has absolutely gotten the bulk of evangelicals behind McCain now. Not to mention alot of other people who were conservative and were not feeling great about voting for McCain.

  22. No. Perhaps the fact that she has more experience in commerical fishing, baby making, and soccer practice than governing.

  23. Yes, he did. Obama's supporters are steaming mad about it too, spitting their venom and hissing!

  24. No, it placed the Republican party on the same level as the Democrat party.  Now both parties have one senior and one minority candidate running for the two highest position in the USA. The question is will the male minority receive more votes than the woman miniority?  As seen in the Democrat race man trumped woman even though the woman had more experience.

McCain should have gone with Minnesota's governor Tim Pawlenty.  McCain said the job of VP  was to go to diplomatic functions and funerals, as seen on Meeting The Press today via video of McCain. Sounds like a woman's job in McCains mind?  I think the Democrat's could have a little fun with that video. Meet the Press just gave a little free air time for the Democrats.

History will be made no matter what party wins the White House race now.

  25. yes Obama is doomed.

He doesnt have a favourable lead against mccain and history shows democrats who didnt have a lead of atleast 10 points...LOST.

This election is rigged for sure.

  26. No.  All McCain did when he chose Palin was how that he can make bad decisions under pressure.

If McCain really wanted to beat Obama, he should have picked Pawlenty, Romney, or Ridge.  They all have an established Executive background; Romney would have helped out in the economics area; Pawlenty, mostly being more out of the spotlight, would have brought that "experience, outside of the beltway label"  Tom Ridge would have also been a good pick, too, having executive experience and being the former DHS Secretary.

I also happen to be a Democrat.  I assure you, if McCain chose any of these guys, the race would end up a lot closer than it will.  Obama benefited from this one.
