  3. cute..they were there for census and tax purposes..

  4. At least they tried. It would have been stupid not to try.

  5. How old are you?

  6. Someone at the front desk screwed up their reservations...

  7. I'm gonna give you a V8.

Sheesh, bad joke bad joke, no coffee for you today.....(or whatever is your favorite drink)

  8. We're feeling very funny today aren't we?

  9. Foolishly presuming you might be interested in a real answer...and it was kinda funny by the way...Most likely this was not an "Inn" in any sense we commonly think of the word.  The word used for "inn" is also the same word in greek used for UPPER ROOM...the equivalent of a guest room in a private house, not a hotel.  Here's the way I see it working out.  Joseph went to Bethleham expecting to stay with extended members of his clan.  When he got there the "guest room" was already full.  He and Mary were not turned away, but stayed in the common living area...this level of the house would have been slightly elevated above the level where the barn animals were kept...thus the manger they laid Christ in.  The house my grandfather was born in in Italy had this type of set up...yes, the barn animals stayed in the house and their body heat helped warm the quarters.

  10. lol.

  11. Actually Christmas was not a holiday for centuries after that. They had no choice but to go register as the Romans had ordered, the punishment for a conquered people not following Rome's orders was  death. What are you stupid or something?

  12. good thing u realized that. too bad it's late.

  13. The thing that puzzles me about them is *when* did they marry?  If she was a virgin when she became pregnant, then she could not possibly have been married at that time (and today) because marriage becomes official only after consummation.  Did they marry after her immaculate conception?

    .

  14. Actually, in another telling of that story, Joseph left her on the outskirts of Bethlehem in a sheltered spot, and went into the town to find a mid-wife, because Mary couldn't go any further.

Salome was the midwife he found there, but by the time he came back with her, Jesus was already born.

I don't think either of them wanted to travel at that time, but I guess Caesar made them

  15. LOL!

  16. They had to register for taxes, I believe, and it wasn't a request, it was mandatory.
