Didn't NBC say they're broadcasting the closing ceremony at 7PM?

I'm very confused... my parents and I, my boyfriend and his family, were all sitting in front of the TV at 7 to watch the closing ceremony. It's not 8:04PM, what happened? Did we all remember the time wrong? I swear NBC said 7.

We live on the East coast.

Here, it said that they were going to do Volleyball before the Ceremony.

The closing ceremonies are just about to begin on NBC now (8:15 pm ET).  They had to show you their gold medal winning volleyball team before you get to see the closing ceremonies.

If ever I felt like moving to Canada it was when I realized that the sobs at NBC were going to show the closing ceremonies recorded.  I mean "Meet The Press" is more important?
